The app finds TVs on your Wi-Fi. Approve it on the TV, or type the short code the TV shows. After that, it reconnects by itself.

Many remote apps come with ad networks, analytics and long permission lists. This one has no ads, no analytics and no account, and it asks Android for five things.
After pairing, the app remembers your TV's security certificate. If another device pretends to be your TV, the app stops instead of sending your pairing key. Read the privacy policy.

Does it work with my TV?
Your phone and TV need to share a Wi-Fi network. What you can control depends on what each TV allows.
Good to know
Is it really free?
Yes. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.
Does it need the internet?
No. It only needs your home Wi-Fi. Your phone talks to the TV directly, so it keeps working when your internet is down.
The app can't find my TV. What now?
Make sure the TV is on and both devices share the same Wi-Fi, not a guest network. A VPN on the phone can also hide your TV. You can always add the TV by its IP address; the help page walks through it.
Can it turn my TV on?
Often, yes. LG and Samsung need their "turn on via Wi-Fi" option, Sony needs Remote start, and some Android TVs can wake while they stay connected in standby. It doesn't work on every model. How to set it up.
Does it have voice control, IR or screen mirroring?
No. It controls your TV over Wi-Fi only, which is why it doesn't need your microphone or location.
Is this an official LG, Google, Samsung or Sony app?
No. Smart TV Remote is an independent app by Falaqa Apps. Brand names describe compatibility only.
Try it on your TV first.
We're running a small Google Play test before launch. Samsung and Sony owners are especially welcome. Send your TV model and the Gmail address you use on Google Play.
